Alexa, Jack & Daniel achieve top ten overall positions at the Manchester Harriers Primary Schools Cross Country leagues!

The final race of this season took place on Saturday at Wythenshawe Park. In the Year 3/4 Girls race Ava(21st) has done really well in her first Cross Country season. She finished in overall 17th place as a year 3! Well done Ava! Alexa(7th), who is also a year 3 has had an absolutely outstanding first season finishing in overall 5th position! Congratulations Alexa! Natalia also competed on Saturday and was running a really good race before she got the dreaded stitch.

In the Year 3/4 Boys race William(4th), again as a year 3, achieved his best finishing position to date at this event. Jack(8th) has also had a very good first season and I am very pleased that he too will be picking up a medal for finishing in overall 5th position!

Grace(8th) & Libby(12th) both achieved their best finishing positions to date and their overall positions of 11th & 14th, as year 5s, bodes well for next season. Both these athletes are maturing into resilient, experienced athletes who are committed to their long term development.

In the Year 5/6 Boys race Jonah(5th) put in an excellent training session in preparation for his T & F season and is in good condition to run a big race in the Greater Manchester Schools Cross Country Championships for Stockport schools. I am absolutely delighted with Daniel(19th) who is learning a lot by doing Cross Country competition and, as a year 5, will receive a medal for his overall 9th finishing position. Freddy(28th) was our third athlete competing in this race and I have been very impressed with his willingness to get involved with anything that is asked of him. A great attitude to have when the objective is to achieve a well rounded athlete in the long term.

Finally, I'd like to thank the parents of the above children for fully committing to my coaching philosophy. The above children train consistently, compete consistently and are genuine multi-eventers who get involved in the broadest number of events, as is possible. They are following a very specific long term development strategy. Thank You.
