Manchester Harriers Primary Schools Cross Countries 2015/16 - Race 2

Our group had 10 runners who proudly represented their Schools. In the year 3/4 girl's race: Natalia(41st) ran the course for the first time and did very well considering she wasn't feeling at her best; Ava(26th) improved her position by 11 places and improved her time by 40 seconds - a fabulous PB and Alexa(9th) achieved her 3rd Top ten finish and also achieved a very good PB, knocking 15 seconds off her previous time. All three athletes are doing extremely well considering it is their very first Cross Country season. This is also the case with Jack(8th) who ran a fabulous first race, over this course, in the year 3/4 boy's race.

In the year 5/6 girls race Sofia(2nd) was at her very best, running a tactically astute race with great grit and determination. I was very pleased with Grace(10th) and Libby(16th) who ran really positive races from the outset, as year 5s and thoroughly deserved their respective PBs. Grace knocked 33 seconds off her previous time and Libby knocked 30 seconds off hers. Absolutely terrific running by all three girls.

Finally, in the year 5/6 Boys race: Jonah(3rd) put in an excellent display of tactically & technically correct running for his first race this year at this event; Daniel(19th) has had a bad cold & cough all week and yet unbelievably still managed to set a PB, improving on his previous time by 13 seconds and Tom(59th) was a real hero, running the race with a bad stitch, but managing to knock 20 seconds off his previous best time.

Great Endurance running all round. Congratulations to all the children who got out there on a Saturday morning and did some excellent exercise. Very inspiring from so many different perspectives.
