Warrington Open Medal meeting 23rd August 2015

This meeting seems ages ago, but the official results are now out and are attached below.

At this late stage I'll only make a few comments:

- Congratulations to all those who achieved PBs on the day. I am particularly pleased with certain long jump PBs and those who achieved them, need to start getting more confident with this event and work out what they are doing differently to achieve these results and practice, what that is, more often and consistently. Some it will be good speed on the runway, others it will be better thigh drives ............ and ultimately it will be the whole event from set up to landing.

- This event served it's purpose well and was used in all cases as a means of blowing away the cobwebs from not training for two weeks.

- The results don't include the U9 events and so I want to make sure the group know that Rhys did exceptionally well in the three events he competed in. A Gold, Silver and Bronze if I remember right. Well done Rhys, excellent speed work!

- As far as I am concerned, the outstanding performance of the day came from Sofia in the 600m. Apart from the PB that got her to dip below the 2min barrier, she executed the middle distance tactics, we have discussed for a while now, without flaw and her running technique throughout was superb. Having had a discussion with Fi, at the start of the meeting, I found her response really mature and inspiring.

- As I mentioned in a previous email, I was so pleased to see Libby, Rhys and Grace stay on to the very end of the meeting to get a throw in. A commitment, at the end of a very long day, that demonstrates the groups commitment to correct, long term athlete development.

Well done Rhys, Grace, Libby, Daniel, Sofia, Ella and Millie!
