Trafford Open Medal Meeting - May 25th 2015

On a very pleasant afternoon, with the fairground next door to the track creating a really nice carnival atmosphere, there were so many positives to come out of this open meeting. Firstly, it was great to see Harry back competing after his injury. He competed for the first time in Discus, an event that will only ever get better for him, got in his first sprint of the Summer and then casually got himself a Javelin PB with a throw beyond 25m. Fantastic Harry - good to have you back competing!

Lauren had a very successful afternoon as well. We have put a lot of time and effort into hurdling recently and so it was no surprise that she achieved a PB in this event. I'm also very pleased with her PB in the Javelin and the consistency of her long jumping is very impressive.

Jonah got himself a good PB in the long jump, an event he is still learning, ran in a really competitive 600m event and came second in his heat and competed for the first time in the 150m and again achieved an excellent second in his heat.

I am very pleased with what these three multi-eventers are achieving. Most importantly they are totally relaxed, are gaining valuable competition experience and seem to be enjoying competing for all the right reasons across a multitude of events.
