3rd Stockport Harriers Schools Cross Country 2014/15

I was very pleased with the performances of a number of children last Saturday. In the year 3/4 girls race, Grace did well on her comeback run from illness to come 13th, setting off at a very positive pace. Libby continues to improve and got her best position to date coming 16th. Poppy would have learnt a lot from the race and will improve again for the experience. There were 80 girls running in this race and all three girls need to be really proud of the way they are running and the progress they are making. In the year 3/4 Boys race: William ran a solid race to come 11th; Davey made giant strides forward to come an excellent 18th; Louie on his first run over the course came 35th and will have gained a lot of experience and knowledge for next time and Daniel was running his first ever Cross Country and did brilliantly well to finish 32nd. Again these young athletes need to be really proud of what they achieved in a field of 85!

In the Year 5/6 girls race, Sofia's first race back from illness ended in a good 13th place and Ella made the top 10 for the 3rd time this Cross Country season. Millie's 35th position was a massive improvement and really well deserved as she is putting progressively more into her training. Finally, the year 5/6 Boys race also produced some excellent results from members of the group. Jonah ran an absolutely superb race to come 5th; William H, coming back from illness, a very good 13th and William B his best result to date with an excellent 33rd.

As always, it was great to see so many of the group out there giving it their all, enjoying it and doing a fit and healthy activity on a Saturday morning. Congratulations to all our young athletes!
