North West Schools Regional Cross Country Championships 2013/14

Harry and Lauren proudly represented Stockport Schools in this year's Regional Championships at Heaton Park. A fantastic achievement by these two multi-eventers, who have put a lot of effort and commitment into this event over the last two years. We were not able to prepare for the race properly with Harry, due to niggly little injuries/growing pains over the last month, so it was just pleasing that he took part and got through the race without any further aches or pains. The race will serve as a good platform to work off, for the Track & Field season. Congratulations Harry on your excellent achievement of representing Stockport Schools at such a prestigious, high standard event.

In contrast, Lauren had been able to train well leading up to the event and finished in 34th place on a course that was far too short and sharp for her. As a result, her finish was particularly impressive - the race had just started for her, whilst others had nothing left to give. A very impressive result which bodes really well for future endurance events. Extremely well deserved for a young athlete who is totally focused on everything she does and is committed to improving technically and physically. Well done and congratulations Lauren.
