3rd Manchester Harriers Primary Schools Cross Country 2013/14

Sofia put in another really solid run to come 5th in the Yr 3/4 girls race, being positive right from the outset, in what was a gruelling pace set from start to finish, in heavy conditions. She was followed by Sam in the Yr 3/4 boys race. I particularly liked the fact that, from a long way out, Sam was trying to lift his pace and trying to maintain it for as long as he could. Really positive running from both these young athletes. Great to see.

Megan ran the course for the first time and put in a run that I am sure she will improve on, now that she has worked out the course. In the same race there was an outstanding performance from Ella who finished in her best position to date in 13th. Again, I was really impressed by her positivity right from the start and her pace and form are improving all the time. What I think she is learning to do very well is to be relaxed, even though she is running hard. A lot more still to come from both these two Yr 5s running against Yr 6s.

Finally, I was absolutely thrilled with the way Harry ran in the Yr5/6 boys race. He went for it from the outset, trying to maintain the highest pace he could throughout. A very very gutsy effort that resulted in him achieving his best result to date in Cross Countries - a fabulous 5th place!
