Pole Vault session enjoyed by all !

On Wednesday our group were introduced for the first time to the Pole Vault event by Bashir Hussain, a UK Athletics qualified coach and tutor. Bashir's focus was on introducing fundamental movement skills specific to this event. I know that Bashir was very impressed with the progress made by all the children present and that he very much enjoyed working with the group. As for the athletes, I think the pictures show how much they enjoyed the session and the question asked by most was "When can we do that again?"

As we are multi-event group, it is my intention to, over time, give our developing athletes a vast range of experiences and learning opportunities. This will ensure that our training group caters for all strengths and develops areas which require improvement in all our athletes. This Philosophy is gradually resulting in the group producing good multi-eventers, jumpers, throwers, sprinters, middle distance and cross-country runners. There is something for everyone and appropriate and structured development being made, through the Athlete Development Model that is being adhered to.

Once again thank you to Bashir Hussain for the excellent coaching and the time he took out of his busy schedule to introduce the event to the group. We all look forward to the next one.
