Pole Vault introductory session - Wednesday 22nd May 2013

I am very pleased to inform you that an introductory Pole Vault session has been arranged for Wednesday 22nd May 2013. The session will last for an hour between 4.30-5.30pm. Those wanting to attend, who are not regular members of the Wednesday training group, need to let me know that they wish to do so. The session will be run by Bashir Hussain, a Stockport Harrier Coach.

Bashir has tremendous experience as an athlete, coach and as a teacher. He has an MSc in Exercise and Sport (2012) and a B.Ed Hons in Mathematics and Physics (1989) from Manchester Metropolitan University. As an athlete he has competed at GB, England and Masters level, across a number of events including a vast range of endurance races from 3000m to the Marathon. He has coached a number of athletes to National/International success. He is a Level 4 endurance coach and a UK Athletics Tutor & Assessor. As a Teacher he has taught Mathematics, Physical Education and Information Technology since 1989." 

We are very lucky to have him for this session and I do hope that it will be well attended. I am sure a lot will be learnt and you never know, we may uncover the next Olympic Pole vault champion from within our training group!
