Bill achieves GB Duathlon qualifying time !

Bill competed, for the first time this season, in the Althorp Sprint Duathlon (5km run - 20km bike - 5km run). The brilliant news, is that he achieved a time of 1:20.07, which registered as the qualifying time required, for athletes in his age group, to make the 20 strong GB team for the World Championships in Canada. This was the first qualifier of three races, so Bill has already put himself into a strong position to make the team.
Here are some of his comments, that are relevant to our training group, which he so generously helps out with, on a voluntary basis, whenever he can :

"I normally improve through the spring so, for a first time out, this was good and is the result of a lot of hard work over the winter.  Perhaps a key point is that I've worked very hard on my run/bike form and the underlying movement patterns to iron out some areas that were causing me to be prone to injuries, so good form is equally applicable, whether you are 6, 12 or 46!"

Well Done Bill ! We are all going to cross our fingers for you, for the next couple of qualifying races. I think for good Luck, you need to train with the Tuesday group prior to the next two races, as you did, this time round. The children really enjoyed your presence and feedback.
